Adult education opportunities offer parishioners new insight, learning, and spiritual growth in faith. Programs such as Bible studies, topic nights, parent sessions, etc. help the members of the community grow in the Catholic faith as well as develop a community atmosphere.

Baptismal Preparation

To assist parents in understanding the sacrament of Baptism – its origins, signs, symbols, and responsibilities. Parental responsibilities and sponsorship are discussed. A two-session meeting is required prior to Baptism.

Adult Faith Formation

Faith Groups offer parishioners new insight, learning, and spiritual growth in faith. Each group meets for apx. 1 ½ hours and is involved in prayer, reflection, discussion, and sharing on a theme, topic, book, videotape, or audio tape dealing with issues that concern Christian ideals and Catholic thought. Seasonal groups can take place during Advent, Lent, summer, etc.

Formation Committee

This Committee links all the ministries in lifelong formation and education within our parish committee to plan and implement an integrated effort towards building up the faith and life of the parish.

Marriage Preparation

This program is for couples that value their marriage and are willing to share their journey and experiences with other engaged couples preparing for marriage. The lead couple meets with the engaged couple for approximately 3-5 meetings and is scheduled for no more than two different couples each year.

Liturgy of the Word for Children

This ministry helps children better understand the Sunday readings by dismissing them after the Opening Prayer to hear and reflect on the Word. Takes place during the 8:30 a.m. mass on Sundays – Proclaimers and leaders assist as assigned.

RCIA

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process for receiving adults into the Catholic faith through Baptism, Confirmation, and First Eucharist. Meetings are held weekly from September through the Easter Season and offer the opportunity for adults to receive formation in the Catholic faith and the opportunity to meet others willing to share their faith. Anyone interested in learning more about the Catholic faith is welcome, as well as any Catholic willing to share time in prayer and formation as part of the RCIA team.

Youth Advisory Council

This council is being established to aide the youth director in the planning and implementation of comprehensive youth ministry. It will mirror the parish council. Each committee will consist of: one Junior High; one Senior High; and one adult. At large members can be college students.
